This document is a practice in functional instructional design.
I wrote all of the copy and took all of the photographs myself.
Written Aspects:
I chose to tailor the instructions to novice cookers. In technical writing, it is important to assume nothing of the reader. All steps must be thoroughly explained, and every detail must be addressed in the most logical order. The order of the copy, as well as the layout of the images and formatting of every section was carefully considered in order to facilitate understanding. Each image had a number, title, and description, and were referenced in the text via their numbers to help guide the readers to the appropriate images.
Visual Aspects:
I took all of the photographs myself, and setup every scene as well. The colors of the document (e.g. headers, sub-headers, labels, section dividers) were chosen to reinforce and reflect the strongest colors throughout the images.
